What kind of clay for what kind of skin?

Many of us have heard about the beneficial properties of clays. Not surprising. Clays have been widely used for years, including in the cosmetics industry. There are masks, creams dedicated to complexions with various imperfections and other cosmetics with white, green, red, pink or blue clay.

What are cosmetic clays?

Cosmetic clays are called natural treasures, and they are extracted from silica-alumina rocks. A big advantage of clays is the content of vitamins and macro- and microelements, calcium, zinc or aluminum. What’s more, they equalize the skin’s pH and have the ability to absorb impurities.

Types of cosmetic clays

As we mentioned above, there are several types of clays. These include white, green, pink, red and blue clay. What properties do each of them have? In what case will a particular type work?

Green clay

Green clay has a cleansing, antibacterial, disinfectant, anti-inflammatory effect. It deeply cleanses pores and has mattifying properties. In addition, it smoothens the skin, reduces blemishes, and helps fight acne. It also speeds up the healing process after inflammation, normalizes sebum secretion and removes toxins accumulated in the skin.

Such a clay will be an excellent solution for people with acne-prone skin, prone to inflammation. Green clay can be applied not only to the face, but also to other parts of the body, such as the thighs – it will have a firming and anti-cellulite effect.

White clay

White clay, also known as Chinese or porcelain clay, is a good choice for those with sensitive, irritation-prone, dry and very dry, mature skin.

Such clay is very fine, much finer than the green clay described above. What qualities does it have? It cleanses the skin without breaking the protective barrier, has a soothing effect, exfoliates dead skin cells, calms the skin, improves blood circulation. Regular use brings results in the form of even skin tone, reduction of irritation, healthy and beautiful looking skin.

Red clay

Red clay contains silicon, cobalt, copper and selenium, as well as trivalent iron. It strengthens blood vessels, seals them and prevents them from bursting. It provides excellent support in the treatment of rosacea, smooths wrinkles, and improves the overall condition of the skin.

The type of clay in question will work well for combination, vascular and mature skin.

Pink clay

Pink clay is a combination of red and white clay. Cosmetics containing rose clay have smoothing, astringent and whitening properties. In addition, they regulate sebum secretion, strengthen capillaries, and have a disinfectant effect.

Pink clay will be a good choice for those with sensitive and delicate skin, as well as combination and oily skin.

Blue clay

This is a very versatile, gentle clay that will work against a variety of skin problems. It has a soothing, anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. It is recommended for seborrheic skin, acne, eczema and psoriasis, as well as sensitive skin.

Summary

The clays have a very positive effect on the condition and appearance of the skin. They are natural products that contain minerals and vitamins and remove toxins. Cosmetics with white, green, red, pink or blue clay will work well against all kinds of imperfections, from sensitive skin to vascular, oily, acne-prone skin.
