Blackheads and enlarged pores – where they come from and how to fight them

The skin is the largest human organ. It consists of 3 layers: epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. To care for it, we use cosmetics with a different spectrum of action. They are intended to nurture and keep the skin in good condition. However, the effects are not always so obvious, and despite proper care, problems arise that we have to deal with.

Dilated pores

On the entire surface of the skin there are sebaceous glands, whose function is to produce sebum. It is a mixture of lipid substances that protect our skin from harmful agents. When the skin produces too much sebum, the outlets of the glands begin to clog. Excess sebum, flaky epidermis and impurities on the surface of the skin lodge in the skin pores, which begin to enlarge, creating further skin problems: papules, pimples, blackheads (aka blackheads).

What they are and how they are created

Blackheads are non-inflammatory skin lesions that form at the mouths of the sebaceous glands. They can form for several reasons: in the course of acne, through the overproduction of sebum and through improper exfoliation of the epidermis, or they can be the result of inadequate and inaccurate care and cleansing. They can be exacerbated by stress, pollution, poor diet and lifestyle.

Types of blackheads

We can divide blackheads into:

pen – efflorescence with a characteristic dark color. They are formed by the accumulation of excess sebum and epidermis. They get their black color through oxidation and superinfection by bacteria (most often Propionibacterium acnes).

closed – they have a light color. Mostly caused by clogging of skin pores by accumulated sebum and epidermal cells. They occur most often around the eyes, on the cheeks and on the forehead.

How to fight blackheads and enlarged pores?

To reduce the occurrence of blackheads, it is necessary to apply several principles in daily care that will allow our skin to function properly.

Very important:

gentle cleansing of the skin – daily makeup removal in the morning and evening is the basis of care and obtaining a flawless complexion. It is important to properly cleanse and tone the skin.

systematic use of scrubs and exfoliation of dead skin – it is necessary to cleanse the skin of excess dead skin cells to avoid clogging of the sebaceous gland orifices and the formation of blackheads.

skin hydration – properly hydrated skin will give soothing relief and balance homeostasis in the epidermis.

using gentle cosmetics with acids at night – acids deeply cleanse the skin, reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and counteract the formation of blackheads. It is worth using in daily care.

Proper care applied systematically can help prevent the formation of blackheads.

Sensitore gel – a cleansing gel dedicated to washing the face, as well as a dose of vital energy extracted from acai fruit and ginseng. Antioxidants in the ingredients absorb free radicals, which are formed in our skin and are responsible for tissue damage.

Puratore home – enzyme peeling with papain, which will work for all skin types, including very sensitive skin. 99.5% of the formula is made up of naturally derived ingredients. It works only on the outer layer of the epidermis, so it is safe even for pregnant and nursing women.

Hydratore – an intensive moisturizing cream with 5% mandelic acid. The cream has a moisturizing effect, regulates sebum secretion, reduces the appearance of pores, and makes the skin soft and smooth.

City night cream – the cream counteracts the effects of environmental pollution, makes the skin glow, is in better condition.
