How do you recognize menopause?

Menopause has symptoms that are not obvious until we relate them to each other. Sometimes a woman feels bad, notices changes in her body, but also in her mood. Menopause is a condition that can be very troublesome, especially when left undiagnosed.

If you’re not sure, the Kupperman test comes to the rescue.

Kupperman test

The Kupperman test helps determine how likely it is that the symptoms you are experiencing are menopause. A series of eleven questions about specific symptoms:

  • hot flashes,
  • sweats,
  • sleep disorders,
  • irritability,
  • depressive mood, dizziness,
  • concentration problems and lack of energy,
  • joint and bone pain,
  • headaches,
  • cardiac arrhythmias,
  • tingling and numbness in the extremities.

These can all be symptoms of menopause, but they are not necessarily it. A headache can just as well be caused by stress or dehydration. However, when it occurs in a “set” with the other ailments mentioned above, it can already be a piece of the puzzle. In the Kupperman test, it is necessary to determine the severity of symptoms. The options are four: the symptom in question is not present, it occurs sometimes, the severity is moderate or unbearable.

After solving the test, you will see the score in points. If you have less than 20 points – you don’t need to be interested in the topic of menopause yet.
Any score above 20 points is already a good reason to take care of health and new needs. With a score of more than 30 points – you should already have vitamins A, E and D at home and cosmetics that meet different needs than before.

If you are at an age when you don’t yet suspect menopause, pass the information on to your mother or older friends in whom you have noticed irritability or lack of energy and impaired concentration. Show the Kupperman test as a curiosity, perhaps without pointing out a colleague’s irritability or lack of focus.
